KIDDIE LIST 8-26-11

Plenty of well-bred babies will be making their first race appearance on Saturday, including the offspring of Kentucky Oaks winners Keeper Hill and Secret Status, Diana (G1) winner Sand Springs, Epsom Oaks winner, BC Distaff heroine Pleasant Home and a half sibling to the brave Test (G1) winner You.

Shkspeare Shaliyah (Shakespeare - Tricky Mistress, by Clever Trick) Record: unraced. Both half sisters, Zip Trick (15-3-5-2 $117,311) and Master Tricky (24-2-2-5 $45,705) are stakes placed. His half brother won twice in six tries. Their dam is a half to stakes placed Barney’s Mistress, the dam of multiple stakes winner Deputiformer (43-5-8-11 $511,593).

His dam won one of eight starts and placed in the Demoiselle (G2). She’s a daughter of the great Personal Ensign and is a half sister to BC Juvenile Fillies Champ My Flag, and the sires Miner’s Mark, Our Emblem and Traditionally.

Coach Royal (Lemon Drop Kid - Pagosa Springs, by A.P. Indy) Record: 2-0-1-0 $15,060. He’s inbred to the blue hen Lassie Dear through her daughters Charming Lassie (dam of Lemon Drop Kid) and Weekend Surprise (dam of A.P. Indy) He is also closely inbred to Seattle Slew (3x3), as Slew is the dam sire of Lemon Drop Kid and Slew is also the sire of A.P. Indy. Coach Royal’s half sister won in her second try while his half brother is 0 for 3. Their dam went 0 for 6 but the second dam is a stakes winner.

School Spirit (Pulpit - Just a Ginny, by Go for Gin) Record: unraced. He’s a half brother to Tampa Bay Derby winner Big Truck (15-3-2-2 $370,267), multiple stakes veteran Logic Way (29-8-5-4 $482,749) and a Puerto Rican G2 winner.

CHALYBEATE SPRINGS (Dynaformer - Chaposa Springs, by Baldski) Record: 3-0-0-0 $7,069. He finished 5th in all three starts. He is a son of Ballerina and Test heroine Chaposa Springs (23-14-5-0 $762,115). His half sister produced the UAE-G3 winner Mendip, but although four of his siblings raced, only two have won.
