Studio City (Discreet Cat - Sincerely Susan, by Devil's Bag) (F) Last work: 5F 1:00.00 (8/48) handily gate (Del Mar).   One of two half siblings is a winner and that one won her maiden in her fourth start. Their dam raced three times and got her photo taken in her last race. The dam is a half sister to the durable stakes mare Affordable Price. That one is the dam of four stakes winners and also a grand-dam to the stakes winning veteran Demarcation.

Behavioral (Include - Arches of Gold, by Strike Gold) (F) Last work: 5F :59.60 (4/60) handily (Del Mar).  She’s a half sister to Sorrento Stakes winner Inspiring (4-2-1-1 $147,388) and a half brother is stakes placed. Her dam is a multiple stakes winner, she took the La Brea S. (G3) at three and placed in the Santa Monica H. (G1) as a five year old. (21-7-7-2 $434,006).

Big Girl (Street Sense - Quiet Celerity, by Quiet American) (F) Last work: 6F 1:14.80 (2/4) handily (GG).  She’s the third foal produced by her dam. Her half brother is 1 for 14 while her half sister is 0 for 6. Their dam went 1 for 17 in her racing career. She’s a half to Lone Star Derby hero Tahkodha Hills and the second dam Appella won the Bourbonette at three.

Punch Drunk (Corinthian - Punch Appeal, by Successful Appeal) (F) Last work: 3F :36.00 (2/15) handily (Del Mar).  She is the second foal for her dam. Her half sister placed second in her only start. Their dam is a multiple juvenile stakes winner and won the JJ’s Dream, KY Cup Juvenile Fillies, Pocahontas, etc. (12-6-0-2 $413,340).

Wild Date (Full Mandate - Chaposa, by Wild Event) (F) Last work: 5F 1:02.60 (21/26) handily (Del Mar).  Her half brother was a slow starter, needing seven tries to win his maiden. He placed in the Lamplighter Stakes at Monmouth and has a 16-2-1-4 $47,203 record. Their dam went 1 for 7 and there’s no other blacktype in the first two distaff generations. The third dam produced a couple of precocious fillies, Del Mar Debutante (G1) heroine Point Ashley and Landaluce winner Raw Gold.

Ask Me Later (Harlan's Holiday - Marry Me Scarlett, by Dixie Brass) (F) Last work: 5F 1:01.00 (15/48) handily (Del Mar).  She has seven half siblings, six have started, five are winners. Her dam went 1 for 11 in her career. She’s a half to the top filly Platinum Tiara (2nd in BC Juvie Fillies, etc.).

Four half siblings have blacktype, including the top level turf veteran Better Talk Now (51-14-18-5 $4,356,664), stakes winner B.A. Way (24-4-5-1 $320,775), and stakes placed runners Beat the Play (7-2-3-1 $91,136) and Talkin Indian (20-2-3-4 $ 98,225). Their dam won her maiden in her third try and she is multiple stakes placed (19-5-6-2 $ 89,087).

Hannibal Lecter (Harlan's Holiday - Decadent Designer, by Well Decorated) (C) Last work: 4F :48.13 (1/61) breezing dirt training track.  He’s the fifth foal. All of his half siblings have started, with two winners. Both needed 5 tries to win their maiden while their dam needed 8 starts to get the job done. She’s a half sister to the old stakes veteran Bonapaw (49-18-6-2 $1,118,752) who won the Vosburgh (G1) when he was six and is currently enjoying retirement at Old Friends.

Silver Max (Badge of Silver - Kissin Rene, by Kissin Kris) (C) Last work: 4F :50.02 (29/51) breezing.   He’s the fifth foal. All of his half sibings have started and two are winners. His half sister won a listed stakes at three. Their dam won once in 6 tries. She’s a half to the dam of major sire Yes Its True and another half sister produced the Canadian Champion Colt Kiss A Native.

Daba Daba (Malibu Moon - Music Fever, by Gold Fever) (C) Last work: 4F :50.06 (65/106) breezing. He has five half siblings, four have raced, and two are winners. His half sister Marianne Rose won two stakes as a juvenile (7-3-1-0 $82,375). Their dam went 0 for 3 and she’s a half sister to the Japanese G1 winner Eagle Café and Churchill Downs Distaff H.(G1) heroine Let, who produced Sham Stakes (G3) winner Ravel.

Shanes Girl has inbreeding to the blue hen Special (3 x 4) through her daughter Fairy Bridge and that one’s full brother Nureyev.

Najjaar (Jazil - Hasheema (IRE), by Darshaan (GB)) (C) 5F 1:01.00 (4/21) breezing. He’s a first foal. There’s some minor blacktype in the second generations and this colt will likely be best as an older turf router.

Mi Luna Grande (Broken Vow - Mi Luna Nueva, by El Prado )(G) 5F 1:04.00 (19/21) breezing. Gelding is a third foal. He’s a half brother to the graded stakes placed miler Dos Lunas and another half brother is a winner. Their dam is a stakes placed half sister to the multiple graded stakes warriors Kim Loves Bucky and Transduction Gold.

Two other half siblings are winners. Their dam won the Cinderella Stakes at two.

FLASHY LASSIE (Flashy Bull – Lemon Pop Lassie, by Lemon Drop Kid) 4F :50:00 (7/34) breezing. She won the Debutante Stakes (G3) at Churchill and was second in the Mountaineer Juvenile Fillies Stakes. Indecise (Pleasant Tap - Independent Grace, by A.P. Indy) (F) 5F :59.00 (2/41) handily gate. She’s the seventh foal. Five half siblings have raced and four won. All except one won their maiden in their second start. Their unraced dam is a full to FL Derby placed Indy Dancer and a half to Santa Anita Derby and Santa Anita Derby H. place horse Setsuko. The second dam is a stakes winner.

Second dam La Gueriere won the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1). This distaff family includes the sires Lost Soldier, Master Command and the top turf horse Honor in War.

Santa Anita (Tuesday, 8/23):

Vionnet (Street Sense - Cambiocorsa, by Avenue of Flags) (F) 3F :37.40 (3/16) handily. She’s the second foal and filly produced by her dam. Her half sister won her maiden impressively in June ’11, but hasn’t been on the work tab in two months. Their dam was voted best Cal-bred racemare. She won half of her 19 starts and banked $522,055. She’s a full sister to BC Turf Sprint Champ Avenue of Flags.

Midnight Crooner (War Chant - Midnight Kiss (NZ), by Groom Dancer) (C) 4F :47.60 (2/27) handily. He’s a 4th foal. His full brother Midnight Interlude won the 2011 Santa Anita Derby (G1).

Saratoga (Tuesday, 8/23):

State Flag (Street Cry (IRE) - Salute, by Unbridled) (C) 3F :38.05 (1/1) Breezing from the gate. He hails from racing royalty, but so far, neither of his half siblings have made it to the races. His dam won one of eight starts and placed in the Demoiselle (G2). She’s a daughter of the great Personal Ensign and is a half sister to BC Juvenile Fillies Champ My Flag, and sires Miner’s Mark, Our Emblem and Traditionally.

Thewizardofnassau (Tiznow - Worth Fighting For, by Broken Vow) (C) 5F 1:01.15 (2/16) breezing. He was 5th in his debut at Saratoga (8/5). He’s a 2nd foal and his half sister is unraced. His dam went 1 for 9 and got her win in her 5th try. She’s a half to Oceanport Handicap (G3) hero Daylight Savings. The second dam Worthheroatsingold was a G2 winner and the fourth dam is blue hen Missy Baba.

Sweet Cat (Kitten's Joy - Claire's Smile, by Carson City) (F) 4F :48.30 (10/32) She was second in her debut (7/25). She’s a 5th foal. She is a half sister to Loose Leaf who placed at two in the Grand Canyon H. (CD,8.5FT) and won the Lemon Drop Kid S. (Sar,R,9F) at three. Her dam is unraced. Her third dam Cinegita and fourth dam Wanka are blue hens. Champions Flanders and Surfside were produced by this family.
