NOTE: Due to a family health emergency, the Kiddie Works won't be posted for Friday or Saturday (7/22 - 7/23) They will be posted on Sunday. Thanks for reading the blog!

The summer racing season is upon us. Del Mar opens tomorrow and Saratoga’s historic gates open on Friday. The less precious juveniles will be unwrapped like Christmas presents. Every day on this blog from now until the end of the Saratoga and Del Mar meetings, I’ll point out blue blooded babies from my Kiddie List database that are entered to race or have a series of decent works. Most two year olds will be mentioned only once or twice, but you can keep track of these babies through free virtual stable email notification systems at:

Odom (Pulpit - Bronze Route, by Mud Route) 5F 1:04.04 (2/3) dirt. He’s a half brother to juvenile stakes winner Top Seed. His dam won her only start. She’s a half sis to Cinderella & Santa Anita Oaks heroine Golden Ballet. That one is the dam of Belmont Stakes champ Drosselmeyer.
Rail Jumper (Corinthian - Lady Doc, by Doc's Leader) 4F :52.20 ((14/17) He’s a half brother to multiple stakes winners Two Down Automatic and Lady Marlboro, while another half sibling is stakes placed. All five of the dam’s runners are winners. She’s a hardy stakes winner who won her debut.
Points Offthebench (Benchmark - Mo Chuisle, by Free House) 4F :47.00 (2/29) Handily from the gate. Note that this work was over a full second faster than his Santa Anita works. The gelding is a full brother to multiple stakes winner Bench Points. He’s the second foal for his unraced dam. The second dam is a G3 winner.

Two of his half siblings made it to the races and both needed numerous attempts to win their maidens. There’s little blacktype in the rest of this distaff family. He must be perfectly conformed because he brought $525K at the Saratoga Yearling Sales last year. Either that or someone had too much champagne or an itchy nose.
