KIDDIE LIST 7-20-11

The summer racing season is upon us. Del Mar opens tomorrow and Saratoga’s historic gates open on Friday. The less precious juveniles will be unwrapped like Christmas presents. Every day on this blog from now until the end of the Saratoga and Del Mar meetings, I’ll point out blue blooded babies from my Kiddie List database that are entered to race or have a series of decent works. Most two year olds will be mentioned only once or twice, but you can keep track of these babies through free virtual stable email notification systems at:

Aqueduct:
Odom (Pulpit - Bronze Route, by Mud Route) 5F 1:04.04 (2/3) dirt. He’s a half brother to juvenile stakes winner Top Seed. His dam won her only start. She’s a half sis to Cinderella & Santa Anita Oaks heroine Golden Ballet. That one is the dam of Belmont Stakes champ Drosselmeyer.
Churchill:
Rail Jumper (Corinthian - Lady Doc, by Doc's Leader) 4F :52.20 ((14/17) He’s a half brother to multiple stakes winners Two Down Automatic and Lady Marlboro, while another half sibling is stakes placed. All five of the dam’s runners are winners. She’s a hardy stakes winner who won her debut.
DelMar:
Points Offthebench (Benchmark - Mo Chuisle, by Free House) 4F :47.00 (2/29) Handily from the gate. Note that this work was over a full second faster than his Santa Anita works. The gelding is a full brother to multiple stakes winner Bench Points. He’s the second foal for his unraced dam. The second dam is a G3 winner.
Elloree Training Center:
Twill Be (Tiznow - Little Bonnet, by Coronado's Quest) 4F 52:40 (6/17) breezing dirt. He’s a half to Hopeful Stakes winner Boys at Tosconova.
Hollywood Park:
Ithoughtipaidyou (Sea of Secrets - Lil Nugget, by Mining for Money) 4F :49.40 (11/22) Handily. He’s the first foal for his dam who needed nine tries to win a race. She’s a half sister to multiple stakes winner Ultra Blend.
Keeneland:
Indyniable (A.P. Indy - Maizelle, by Seeking the Gold) 5F 1:02.60 (3/4) breezing. She’s the first foal for her stakes winning dam. The second dam Corona Lake is also a stakes winner.
Santa Anita:
Transcend (Candy Ride (ARG) - Ivory Tower (ARG), by Southern Halo) 4F :50.20 (4/4) Handily. He’s the third foal produced by his dam. He has two full brothers. One is unraced and the other needed Ivory Fudge needed six tries to win his maiden. Their dam is a Group 1 winner in Argentina.
Saratoga:
Eben Alsafa (Pulpit - Boom Town Girl, by Unbridled) 4F :48.34 (16/27) breezing Turf training. He’s the fifth foal for his stakes winning dam. Two of his half siblings made it to the races and both needed numerous attempts to win their maidens. There’s little blacktype in the rest of this distaff family. He must be perfectly conformed because he brought $525K at the Saratoga Yearling Sales last year. Either that or someone had too much champagne or an itchy nose.
Hypnotic Dancer (Freud - Soft Shoe Dancer, by Commendable) 4F :50.33 (24/27) breezing Turf training. She’s a half sister to multiple stakes placed Bwana Babe and the second foal for her unraced dam.
More Than Love (More Than Ready - I'm in Love, by Zafonic) 4F :50.33 (24/27) breezing Turf training. She’s the first foal for her turf stakes winning dam. She’s inbred to the blue hen Intriguing through her daughter Playmate, dam of Woodman (Woodman is More Than Ready’s damsire) and Intriguing is More Than Love’s fifth dam.
Bluegrassislegal (Bluegrass Cat - Shop Glack, by Smoke Glacken) 4F :51.17 (28/35) Breezing dirt. She’s the first foal for her dam. Shop Glack went 0-6 but she’s a half sis to Personal Ensign Stakes heroine Miss Shop, G2 winner Trappe Shot and stakes winner Bought In Dixie. Bluegrassislegal is inbred to Champion 2 YO filly and blue hen Numbered Account through her damsire Private Account and Numbered Account is Bluegrass Cat’s third dam.
Nandino (Street Cry (IRE) - Mama Nadine, by A.P. Indy) 4F :52.44 (32/35) Breezing from the gate. He’s the first foal for his stakes winning dam. His dam is the only filly and stakes winner produced by the Champion 2 YO Countess Diana.
Moojha (Forest Wildcat - Kiss the Devil, by Kris S.) 4F :50.33 (24/35) breezing. She’s a half sister to the multiple stakes winner Kiss Mine. Her dam is a G3 stakes winner.
Superstructure (Henny Hughes - Kind Hearted, by Montbrook) 4F :50.90 (13/19) Dirt training. He’s the first foal for his dam. She’s a half sis to Silk Concorde, who swept the FL Stallion Stakes series.
Captain Webb (English Channel - Miss Mary Pat, by Service Stripe) 5F :59.18 (2/23) Turf Training. He’s the first foal for his precocious dam who won three of five of her starts, including two stakes. His second dam was stakes placed as a juvenile.
Da Vinci (A.P. Indy - Friendly Michelle, by Artax) 5F :59.22 (3/23) Turf training. He’s the third foal produced by his G1 winning dam. His full sister For The Memories is currently racing and is 0 for 5. A half brother is 0 for 2 in Russia. Friendly Michelle is a half to the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Kathmanblu.
