KIDDIE LIST 7/25/11

The summer racing season is upon us. Del Mar and Saratoga have held their opening weekends. The race distances are lengthening and the less precious juveniles being unwrapped like Christmas presents.

Every day on this blog from now until the end of the Saratoga and Del Mar meetings, I’ll point out blue blooded babies from my Kiddie List database that are entered to race or have a series of decent works.

Most two year olds will be mentioned only once or twice, but you can keep track of these babies through free virtual stable email notification systems at:

ON THE WORK TAB (7/24):

Belmont:

Key to Power (A.P. Indy - Exotic Wood, by Rahy) 4F :51.27 (30/43) breezing. Colt has three full siblings, two raced one won once. Two half siblings also raced and both have won. Their dam is a multiple G1 winner, counting the Go For Wand, Santa Maria and Santa Monica Handicaps amongst her victories. She’s the most accomplished runner in three generations.

Papow Papow (Bernardini - Cat Fighter, by Storm Cat) 4F 49.97 (18/43) breezing. She is the third foal and third filly born from her dam. Both of her ¾ sisters are unraced. Her dam won her maiden in her second try and also took the La Canada (G2) at 1 1/8 miles. She’s also G2 placed. Cat Fighter is a half to an Irish G3 winner. The second dam Strategic Maneuver was a very precocious juvenile, winning the Spinaway (G1), Demoiselle (G2), Schuylerville (G2), and Matron (G1).

DelMar:

Corsa Di Cavalli (After Market - Five Star Holding, by Five Star Day) 5F 1:02.20 (57/98) Handily from the gate. Colt is the second foal for his dam. His half brother is a winner. Their dam won once in three attempts, but placed in the Three Chimneys Juvenile against the boys. She’s a half to San Pedro Stakes winner Indian Winter and the multiple stakes winner Sindy with an S. This distaff family produced the Champion Mare Ashado and her multiple stakes winning brother Sunriver.

Ghost of a Chance (Ghostzapper - Diadella, by Diesis) 4F :48.20 (16/79) Handily from the gate. She is the second filly and fourth foal overall produced by her dam. Her ¾ brother won twice in 11 starts and a half sister won once in seven tries while another ¾ sibling was unraced. Their dam is a multiple stakes winner between a mile and 1 1/8 miles. She’s a half to a stakes winner and her half sis Say A Novena set a NTR at Monmouth in her debut. The second dam Rabiadella is a multiple graded stakes winner.

War Signal (War Front - Cigno d'Oro, by Tour d'Or) 4F :47.60 (5/79) Handily. The gelding is the second foal for his stakes winning dam. His half sister, a three year old, has raced once and was unplaced. His dam is a half to a stakes winning sprinter. War Signal’s family isn’t stellar, but he has been flashing strong works.

Picky Picky (Broken Vow - Miss Pickums, by Afternoon Deelites) 4F :50.60 (22/36) Breezing from the gate. He’s the first foal for his multiple stakes winning dam. All five of his half sisters have run and four are winners.

Run Wild (Wild Rush - Silky Omega, by Fusaichi Pegasus) 4F :49.40 (7/36) Breezing from the gate. This filly is the first foal for her dam who raced in Japan. Her dam is a half sister to the G1 winning turf mare Magnificent Song.

Uptown Bertie (More Than Ready - De Bertie, by De Niro) 4F :50.00 (17/36) Breezing from the gate. This filly is the fifth daughter for her dam. Uptown Bertie is a full sister to Get Ready Bertie, who placed in the Demoiselle (G2) at two and won the Tiffany Lass Stakes at three. A half sister Whirlie Bertie is a G3 winner. Their dam is a multiple stakes winner and includes the Rampart (G2) and Sabin (G3 among her accomplishments.

Satatoga:

Aubby K (Street Sense - Lilly Capote, by Capote) 4F :48.33 (11/52) Breezing from the gate. She’s the ninth foal for her dam. Aubby K is a half to three stakes placed runners, America’s Storm, Flying Pegasus, and Mythical Pegasus. A half sister produced a stakes placed runner. Their dam is a stakes winner and includes the Golden Rod (G3) amongst her victories.

Kid Blast (Posse - Elise', by Distinctive Pro) 4F :48.89 (13/52) Breezing. He’s the fifth foal for his dam. A full brother is unraced. Kid Blast is a half to the stakes winner Rollers. Their dam is a half to the G1 stakes mare Without Feathers.

Full (More Than Ready - Total, by Forest Wildcat) 4F :51.87 (80/87) breezing. The colt is the first foal for his sprint stakes winning dam. She’s a half to a stakes placed runner. The second and third dams are stakes winners and the fourth dam is the blue hen Special, dam of Nureyev, grand dam of Sadlers’ Wells, etc. This is the female family of Champion Blame.

I Got You (Unbridled's Song - Lady Tiz, by Tiznow) 4F :50.43 (63/88) breezing. The filly is the first foal for her dam. Lady Tiz was unplaced in two starts. She’s a half to Sorority Stakes winner Queens Plaza. The third dam Jeano is a multiple stakes winner and the grand dam of Champion Juvenile Folklore.

Newbie (Bernardini - Changeisgonnacome, by Cherokee Run) 4F :49.33 (18/52) breezing. She’s the first foal for her stakes winning dam. Her dam is a half to a stakes winner.

Casual Trick (Bernardini - Casual Look, by Red Ransom) 4F 48.22 (2/39) dirt training track. His dam placed in a Group 2 as a juvenile and won the Epsom Oaks (Gr.1). All five of her foals are colts. Two have raced and they’re underperformers on the track.

Gloat (Mr. Greeley - On Parade, by Storm Cat) 4F :53.00 (38/39) dirt training track. She’s the fifth foal produced by her dam. Gloat is a half to G2 winner and new sire Parading and the stakes placed Protesting. Their dam is a stakes placed full sister to Champion Juvenile Filly Storm Flag Flying and a half to stakes winner With Flying Colors. The second dam is Champion Juvenile Filly My Flag and the third dam is the legendary Personal Ensign.

Street Savy (Street Sense - Home Court, by Storm Cat) 4F :49.02 (4/39) Breezing from the gate dirt training track. Filly is the third foal for her dam and her half siblings are all winners. Her dam is a full sister to stakes winner One Nice Cat and a full half sister produced stakes winner El Caballo. The second dam is the Champion Older Mare Jewel Princess.

Trophy Wife (Giant's Causeway - Pleasant Home, by Seeking the Gold) 4F :53.00 (38/39) dirt training track. She’s the fourth foal for her BC Distaff heroine dam. None of her half siblings have made it to the track. Her dam is a full sister to graded stakes winner Country Hidaway, who is the dam of stakes winners Boca Grande and Vacation. She’s also a full sister to the dam of multiple G1 winner Pine Island. The third dam is the top G1 winner Maplejinsky, dam of Champion Sky Beauty and grand dam of G1 winner Tale of Ekati. Fourth dam is the blue hen Champion Sprinter Gold Beauty.

Apse (Arch - In Reverence, by Alysheba) 5F 1:03.45 (25/32) breezing. The colt is the eighth foal for his dam. Two half brothers are stakes placed as is his dam. She’s a half sister to the multiple stakes veteran Hasty Pasty, dam of the stakes horse Hasty Kris. To other half siblings to the dam are stakes winners.

Good Deed (Broken Vow - Hidden Assets, by Mt. Livermore) 5F 1:01.33 (7/32) breezing. He’s a half brother to the multiple stakes winning sprinters Country Day and Due Date. Their dam won the Shirley Jones Handicap (G3) and placed in four other stakes. She’s a half to G3 winner Smooth Runner. This female family produced the multiple G1 winner Codex.

Willie Wildcat (Forest Wildcat - Create a Legend, by Meadowlake) 4F :47.22 (1/52) Handily. This colt is the first foal for his dam. She won once in two starts and she’s a half to a stakes placed runner. The second dam is a half to the major sire Mr. Greeley and Majestic Legend, the granddam of Champion Street Sense.

Undaunted Ella (Half Ours - Here Comes Nikki, by The Prime Minister) 4F :48.44 (12/52) breezing. Pretty gray filly is a half to stakes placed Metro Meteor. Three other half siblings are winners.
