In July and August, the distances of the races for two year olds start to lengthen. Precocious pedigrees still rule, but we begin to see the unveiling of juveniles who will eventually prefer running two turns. In the next couple of weeks, Saratoga and Del Mar will open and exciting new prospects will make their appearance. Everyday on this blog from now until the end of the Saratoga and Del Mar meetings, I’ll point out blue blooded babies from my Kiddie List database that are entered to race or have a series of decent works.

ON THE WORK TAB (7/11):
Corinthian's Jewel (Corinthian - Rhumb Line, by Mr. Greeley) the son of first crop sire Corinthian worked 4F in :48.11 (3/15) over the main Saratoga dirt track, working in company with the four year old gelding Top Yank for the Weaver barn. Corinthian’s Jewel is a half brother to Las Virgenes (G1) and Hollywood Oaks (G2) heroine Zazu. Despite being a top miler, Corinthian has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and his offspring will be best as mid-to-late summer/fall runners and improve with age. Currently, he has five runners, no winners.
Gordias (Awesome Again - Voodoo Dancer, by Kingmambo) breezed 4F in :48.33 over the Saratoga main dirt track. He’s been working strongly since May, including three 5F works. Gordias is a son of the multiple G1 winning turf mare Voodoo Dancer. His half brother Voodoo Swinge placed in a couple of graded turf events.
Dorothy's Spirit (Scat Daddy - Im Out First, by Allen's Prospect) picked it up in her second 4F breeze over the Saratoga training track, traveling the distance in :48.94 (5/20). She’s a daughter of first crop sire Scat Daddy who has two winners from 17 starters. Dorothy’s Spirit is a half sister to the precocious I’m A Dixie Girl, heroine of the Pepsi Bassinet and Colleen Stakes. Another half sister First Ascent, got her only stakes win as a six year old. Dorothy’s Spirit has six half siblings. Two of her half sisters have done well on the track but none of her half brothers have blacktype. Her dam is a hardy mare, racing 56 times and earning five stakes victories. Im Out First is a half sister to the dam of Breeders’ Futurity (G1) champ Great Hunter.
Street Talk'n (Street Cry (IRE) - Kimchi, by Langfuhr) worked in :50.02 over the Saratoga training track in his first try traveling 4F. He’s the second foal out of Canadian Champ Kimchi. Street Talk’n has Rasmussen inbreeding (inbred to a blue hen within five generations) to Natalma through her daughter Raise the Standard and son Northern Dancer.
Yari (First Samurai - Message Red, by Cryptoclearance) breezed 4F in :50.41 (15/22) over the Saratoga training track. He’s a full brother to Schuylerville Stakes (G2) winner Le Mi Geaux. Although his sister is a stakes winner, both half brothers are not.
Inny Minnie (Hard Spun - Inny River, by Seattle Slew) traveled 4F in :48.80 (6/41) over the Churchill dirt. She is a daughter of first crop sire Hard Spun. The young stallion is off to an excellent start at stud. Although he has only two winners in the US, his offspring have been strong over the English turf. Hard Spun got his first Group Stakes winner when Red Duke took the 7F Superlative Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. Inny Minnie is a half sister to the English Group 2 winner Montgomery’s Arch. A half sister, Welcome Inn, won the Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship Stakes.
Rude Warrior (A.P. Indy - Raylene, by Tabasco Cat) was mentioned on our June 24 watch list. He worked 4F in :49.60 over the Hollywood Cushion Track for trainer Brian Koriner.
