In July and August, the distances of the races for two year olds start to lengthen. Precocious pedigrees still rule, but we begin to see the unveiling of juveniles who will eventually prefer running two turns. Every day on this blog from now until the end of the Saratoga and Del Mar meetings, I’ll point out blue blooded babies from my Kiddie List database that are entered to race or have a series of decent works.
RESULTS (7/14):
Belmont Race 4 6F inner turf.
2nd - St Pancras (Scat Daddy - Marylebone, by Unbridled's Song)
3rd - ISRA (Easing Along - Constant Companion, by Relaunch)
4th - Sisterhood (Kitten's Joy - Caterette, by Cozzene)
ENTERED TODAY (7/15):

Mentioned in the 7/10 works, DOUBLE CROSSING (Cape Cross (IRE) - Two Clubs (GB), by First Trump (GB)) makes his debut for trainer Wayne Catalano.
Belmont | Race 6 | 6F (t) | MSW
Ur (Giant's Causeway - Sue's Last Dance by Forty Niner) makes his debut for trainer Mark Shuman. Ur is a half brother to Acorn and Delaware Handicap heroine Island Sand, stakes winner Pozo de Luna and five other winners.
Ellis Park | Race 6 | 5 ½ F (Polytrack) | MSW
Worshipper (Awesome Again - Preach, by Mr. Prospector) is a Claiborne Farm homebred making her debut for Al Stall, Jr. She's a half sister to Pulpit. Eight of ten of her half siblings have competed and are winners, but only a couple have won more than twice. Pulpit, Urban Poet (c. by Dynaformer) and Tell It (f. by Storm Cat) are the only ones with blacktype. Worshipper's dam Preach won her maiden in early August, 6F at Saratoga. She then finished 3rd in the Spinaway and won the Frizette. Most of her offspring weren't as precocious. Only Pulpit, Tell It, and Urban Poet won at first asking, all in the fall at 7F. The rest needed at least three or more starts to win. Evidently, you can tell right off the bat if Preach's offspring are going to be any good.
